Even without the orchestra and choir that began the tour with ELP on the East Coast, the "Works" tour sounded incredible! I couldn't believe all that music was coming from three people. But there they were in front of me doing it. Both performances were flawless from beginning to end, and the sound quality became the standard I judged all other concerts against. None ever matched up. One of my favorite shows of all time. I was standing so close to the stage to shoot pictures at the first show that I didn't see the cannons sitting on top of the stacks of speakers on either side of the stage when they were uncovered during "Pirates". So I was completely unprepared for them firing off a couple of rounds. The first one scared the #%&* out of me!
